Why does the truth always has to hurt?...anyway they bashed on brit cars too, search Top Gear- british layland, they made fun of cra[[y brit cars too. Stop being a bunch of soar-asses(those of u who are).

I owned a '76 Caprice Classic, and a '76 Mercury Marquis and I loved them. Lots of muscle, and I never had a major repair. But the '76 Caprice Classic had the unusual reputation of being an extremely reliable American car.

He laughs at American German French Russian Asian cars but doesn't take a minute to look at what Britain made.Truth is that now the great english manifacturers are owned by VW Renault GM and so on.So is that the big british success in manifacturing vehicles?

He's just jelous that Britain didn't have nice cars like that lol... My oldest brother had a 1977 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz and it was the most comfortable car I've ever ridden in. The seats were like pillows... I think the transmission only had 3 gears because it could barely climb a hill.

I love all the yankee-doodles getting all defensive and emotional like crybabies thowing their toys out of the pram at a car review which is pretty correct and legitimate.

Those decades were all awful. We saw SOME good cars slip through the net, but for the most part, they were pitiful shitboxes that did nothing short of insult their glorious pre smog era predecessors. The Europeans and Americans are actually close to on par nowadays, although the Europeans do have superior variety when it comes to high end cars (with dozens of manufacturers as opposed to 2 or 3). The Japanese had their glory in the 1990s.

lastmondaypast1 - 20.5.2012 15:42:07
no. it was the 80's and 90's that were the worst for american cars. Not 1 good car was made. at least in the 70's they sort of looked good.

I love my 1977 Chevy Caprice!

british cars were even worse. that leyland shit had had worse electricals than a knockoff iphone, not to mention the mile wide panel gaps, and underpowered self-consuming engines. im not saying that an old town car is the best thing in the world but i am stunned that he made no mention to the native shit they had in england during this time

I'm an American, and I find your comment a poor representation of the potential intellect and worth of a United States resident. It's weight. Not wait. You don't see a cancer patient spelling it as kancer either, do you?

kristenburnout1 - 19.5.2012 21:11:52
Everyone takes Clarkson waaaay to seriously...

royoboyotube - 19.5.2012 1:33:05
ahaha hes so funnny!

ostrich67 - 18.5.2012 2:34:03
Christ! Have you forgotten about the utter shite that British Leyland foisted upon the world in the 1970s? At least we didn't export these to the UK and fleece some poor old sod of his hard-earned pounds (ok he was probably drunk and on the dole).

PUREAAMERICAN - 17.5.2012 19:30:08

darkrx777 - 17.5.2012 8:22:02

WhiteArcticFoxhound - 17.5.2012 7:06:21
That's Jeremy for you, it seems like he despised any American made car xD

lamprenen - 16.5.2012 14:41:59
Right on the money! And almost without sarcasm too. They weren't exactly great export successes either...

L1011tristar17 - 15.5.2012 23:57:23
These cars may cost marginally more in fuel (17 city, 23 highway) but you save money in parts, labor, repairs, and simply not having any car payments.

All bow before the mighty fro!

edtri19 - 15.5.2012 17:44:04

89Carfreak - 15.5.2012 14:58:13
Isn't this a 1980s model and not a 1970's model?

zephmont - 14.5.2012 22:43:05
Funny seeing as how that limey is driving an 85 Lincoln. And any car will ride like shit when you drive like shit. Is ignorance genetic in those people?

granturismo5101 - 13.5.2012 22:41:24
Look at the hair

dodgingdaniel - 13.5.2012 0:59:15
Im not saying I'm an expert, but come on, its rare that you will find someone that believes that this car is great in the sense that they enjoy a car that shakes them around, bankrupts your wallet on gas, and has no curves or sleekness what so ever
