One of the last interviews of Dr Ngor in Cambodia Dr Ngor tells of his life in that war torn country. An educated, professional man, Dr. Ngor personally experienced internment, forced labor and the ... death of his wife under Communistic rule. In spite of his tragedy and loss, he went on to re-build his nation, restoring Cambodian culture, supporting Orphanages, and prosthetic rehabilitation of young soldiers. The Movie, "The Killing Fields", 1984, reflected the terrifying reign of the Communist Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, from 1975-1979. After 4 years of forced labor he was well qualified to play the part of Dith Pran, the actual Cambodian Journalist. Dr. Haing Ngor not only acted the part in the movie, but also lived it himself, being a prisoner who, because he could not reveal his medical identity, suffered the death of his wife, in his arms, for lack of a spoonful of rice. We can all learn a lot from this man as well as others like him such as Loung Ung. The message that keeps screaming at me is this: They had every right in the world to be angry and bitter at the world and look at the positive outlook on life they have and the motivation they have to help others. I just can't help but reflect on my own problems in comparison to what others have gone through. I am so thankful I have the life I have. We all need to be thankful.

Wiki says he had thousands of dollars in his car that wasn't touched, and the locket was hidden under his clothing, so they wouldn't have known about that. It may have been a hit, but I doubt Pol Pot ordered it.

I have no idea that Ngor actually left behind a legacy. I have no idea at all. I thought he was just an opportuninistic Cambodian who prefer Chinese over the Khmer people which his blood was a part of. Anyway, I congrat those who continue that man's legacy. I have no idea that he looked back to Cambodia. I heard that even in USA, he prefer to live with the Chinese community rather than with his own kind-- the Khmer people.

There won't be any other like this, all of the segments to be published in the next few weeks was lost footage, archived and forgotten. This truly a historic record that because of it's nature will go down in Cambodia's history as a true account of the horrors of the inhumanity committed on the Cambodian people. Haing Ngor in particular, lost everything, but gave everything. this new testimony will go down in history and needs to be shared with all people who seek inspiration.

Watching an actual interview from Dr. Ngor has been just amazing. I've not found any other site where Dr Ngor tells of his 4 years of forced labor and his goal of fulfilling his dream to restore the culture of Cambodia.
