he struggled with a negative view of people they are "sick" till they die that's why there was a nurse at the end. he was at a psychiatric facility to try to "cure" that negative view and his hate of people you could say he imagined the whole thing but i would say it represents his view of people.

Now tell me, if you think I should've said "I think the ending was cowardly" or "IMO, blablabla" or, worse, "IMHO, blablabla", then why don't YOU preface your opinions with words to that effect? I happen to be a movie fanatic, but for this particular animation I did not see it coming. You're assuming a lot about the author's opinion which is not something you can justify. He might not be saying what you're thinking and maybe used that ending to show what his real meaning was, You can't possibly know fir sure unless you are the author of that animation and to insult it in a comment, knowing full well your comment would be flamed seems to me like you wanted an argument?

If you didn't expect an ending in which all that comes before turns out to be an illusion, you've got about 100 years of movie-making to catch up with. It's the easy way out when the authors don't have the guts to face up to what they've been saying.

Maybe he doesn't feel like that about humanity? That seems like your opinion and not that of the animator. I think it was a good ending, I didn't expect it. This was honestly one of the best short animations i've ever seen.

This isn't my idea, saw it on another comment section but i feel like more people should realize it. It's what the video is really trying to say. When the animation zooms out once the ships reach land, it looks like the virus killing the cells. It's the animators way of saying humans are killing Earth. quite interesting.

I'm shocked at the abuse the 'man' received from the nurse at the end. Such conduct by the nurse should have been met by a suspension of all duties without pay. I hope there is a part II to this film that follows up what happened to her for doing that.

The author of the story did not have the courage to stand up for his perception that human beings are to the environment what viruses are to cells. He made it all seem like this perception amounts no more than the crazy ramblings and hallucinations of a madman. Instead of taking his idea to its realistic conclusion, he chickened out and fell back on the cowardly cliché of a plot twist in which "it was all an illusion or a dream" magically resolves every painful insight.
