Secondly, whenever u hear 'republic' in the world news as opposed to 'democracy'...very few 'democracies' are overthrown but you hear about 'republics' being overthrown. So calling it 'Democratic PRK' makes it 'sound' stronger to the NK's (and they believe it makes it sound 'stronger' to the rest of the world). The 'meaning' behind the word has changed in NK ... 'democratic' has a totally different meaning in NK. They have their OWN meanings for words. The REALLY DO think like this.

It's just yet MORE propaganda. South Korea is a 'Republic of Korea' and therefore 'repressed' and 'controlled' by US imperialists in the eyes of North Korea. Whereas North Korea is a 'Democratic People's Republic of Korea.' and therefore , apparently, is representative of what Korean people want. Of course, it's propaganda bulls%it BUT if you grow up in NK you're going to fall for it if u don't know anything else.

If you are educated in the north you & your family will live well but for the majority it will not be so good. The North's president must know that the South Koreans are very well polite people with hardly no crime so he should surrender to the South.

It always makes me feel uncomfortable when people ask the North Koreans questions which could cast the country or the government in a negative light. Just answering these questions semi-truthfully is considered treason, the minders and their entire families could be sent to prison camps for life if they answered.

I think that all countries that are comunist tend to say that they are democratic. I am from a comunist country and people there tend to say that is a democratic country but in reality isn't.
