Alright, you're excluded from my earlier comment about how people are stupid. I know the experiment you're talking about, it was actually a featured cover story in National Geographic last year. The more dog-like behaviour began appearing within a few generations, and I thought it had only been going for 30 years, but I could be wrong about the last part.

Well, they're animals. The pup apparently grew up into a healthy adult and was a part of the baboon "family." I won't bother to address what you said about the pitbulls, because the baboons intent wasn't to intentionally hurt the puppy... Just remember, the baboons don't have human minds to say, "maybe it would be better if I picked it up." It was probably more like, "I want this, I'm taking it!" I agree that it wasn't easy to watch the pup be dragged, but it didn't seem to sustain any injuries!

Instead of hating the baboons you should amaze that they are giving the dog a family instead of the people who let the dogs to fend for themselves in a dumpster.

He's too fucking rough with that puppy. I get a little bit pissed when I see it. :/ He coulda just picked it up and carried it. It almost makes me want to let the dogs interbreed with pitbulls - changing their genepool a bit - to tilt the tables for a relationship with the baboons on more equal grounds.

This is not too surprising. Dogs have been bred and now are hard wired to seek out human compaionship. The fact that they live with baboons makes sense, since we shares a good amount of our genetic makeup with baboons.
