actually they believe he did, mozart suffered from a nervous disposition and he dealt with it by laughing out loud for no reason. that would explain why the film portrays him in this way, a film contributed by musical historians who have spent a large part of their life researching this man and advised the director and writers of the best way forward, which would explain why you weren't a part of it, because you know fuck all

it doesn't matter what we accept, fact are facts, like it or not. I used to consider Mozart as a God, and I was soooo shocked when I heard about how vulgar he was. I still love him, adore his music above anyone's else, I just think of him as more mortal, more human with his defaults :)

well, I will never accept that stupid laugh as Mozart. Extremely talented people always gets criticized at their person. Some people would be jealous, and stupid people with no special gifts at all would immediately start talking about social skills as the only thing they can compare.

Well, maybe I'm off, but didn't they still have, for lack of a better term, a "more civil rivalry," in terms of their music--nothing nasty or any of that, but more of, say, a Beatles/Rolling Stones sort of a thing, natural for musicians and artists and writers...no ill will, but a musical rivalry nonetheless? (In any case, this movie's still amazing, my all-time favorite...Mozart/Shakespeare and "Amadeus" forever, "Anonymous" never! Everything this film did well, that film utterly failed at.)

Salieri was the composer of the emperor. The rivalry depicted in this movie between Mozart and Salieri is fictional, they were actually good friends. Check Salieri's Concerto for piano in C major, second movement, and his Requiem, as well as the ouvertures. He is a great composer; people can love Salieri and Mozart at the same time!

This movie is just stupid. It makes Mozart look like a complete idiot! He was probably a cool genius in reality, not some annoying guy with a great talent.
